NEW APPLICANT PREAPPLICATION INTERVIEW ELIGIBILITY
In order for a new applicant (i.e., an applicant who has never attended APP/HSAC sessions) to obtain a preapplication interview, the following criteria must be met:
- The applicant must attend all APP information sessions and meet all paperwork deadlines:
- December 31st: Deadline to submit an intent to apply form. Any applicant desiring to take advantage of the preapplication interview will need to complete this form. It will give the Careers in Health and Medicine Office some background information about each potential applicant and provides some reflection questions to help the applicant begin to develop their narrative as a future health professional.
- April 1st: Deadline for submitting APP preapplication interview materials (preapplication profile, personal and short essays, activities overview and list, transcripts, SIP summary or abstract, and photo) and scheduling the preapplication interview (PAI).
There are no GPA or entrance exam (MCAT, DAT, GRE) cut-offs to participate in APP; however, students are strongly encouraged to engage in the APP process when they feel confident that they are a competitive applicant.
Any K student or alum can take advantage of the Letter Collection Service, provided that the CAS for your intended professional program accepts this type of document. The letter collection service compiles individual letters along with a brief cover letter describing K College along with prior applicant pool data. In order to utilize this service, applicants will need to request individual letters of recommendation be sent on their behalf via the website to the Careers in Health and Medicine Office. Once an applicant has been notified that all letters have been received, they must complete a file completion form which requires the upload of a copy of a submitted primary application(s) as well as uploading CAS letter request form(s). See Letter Collection Service for more details.
