The AAMC GREAT Outreach Committee will host a Virtual Q&A session focused on biomedical graduate and MD-PhD programs/careers on Oct. 13, 4 p.m. (ET). 

This will be an opportunity for your advisees to:

  • interact directly with faculty and administrators from around the country
  • hear directly from program directors during interactive sessions
  • practice networking skills

Topics for discussion include: 

  • Writing strong personal statements
  • Obtaining great letters of recommendation letters
  • What makes a school/program the best fit for YOU? 
  • What is best for you – a direct path to graduate school or a gap year? Direct to grad school or gap years?
  • Tips for acing your interview skills
  • MD-PhD programs

On Thursday, September 22nd join in online to learn more about Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree programs, as well as master’s and Ph.D. degree programs in the pharmaceutical sciences!

OU’s – Master of Public Health

OU’s MPH is currently receiving applications for our Fall 2022 cohort until July 1, 2022.  This program offers hybrid, evening (classes begin at 5:30 pm) program to allow students to work while completing their degree.

Admissions Criteria:

  • Official transcripts indicating baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution
  • Three (3) recommendation forms from faculty members, supervisors, or professional mentors. Actual letters of support are optional.
  • Personal Statement of no more than 1000 words describing the applicant’s reasons for seeking an MPH degree, rationale for choosing OU’s MPH program, related public health experiences, and long-term professional goals
  • The GRE and/or an undergraduate degree in public health are NOT required.

Detroit Mercy’s MEAGN Program

Considering a career in health care? Ever think about earning a Master of Science in Nursing while studying to become a Registered Nurse! The Master’s Entry Advanced Generalist Nursing (MEAGN) program at Detroit Mercy’s is a unique course of study that gives students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree this opportunity.  The MSN provides the graduate opportunities for excellence at the bedside, facilitates a career in health care leadership, and accelerates entry into advanced practice through certificate or Doctor of Nursing Practice programs.


In just four and a half semesters – less than 17 months – graduates of the Master’s Entry Advanced Generalist Nursing program qualify to be a registered nurse and earn a Master of Science degree in Nursing. Project Horseshoe Farm

Horseshoe Farm offers an intensive gap year (13 month) Community Health Leaders Fellowship, which includes housing and an educational stipend. It is geared towards recent college graduates from around the nation interested in community health and education, non-profit and organizational management, and community service leadership. The competitive Fellowship is a unique opportunity for high levels of responsibility and to help shape community health locally. Its ultimate aim is to prepare citizen service leaders needed for tomorrow’s communities.

UCLA Pre-Medical Enrichment Program

UCLA PREP is a unique non-residential program designed to provide premedical students from disadvantaged backgrounds with the means to strengthening their ability and readiness to study medicine. Full participation in the UCLA PREP program allows participants to enhance their chances of being accepted to medical school and succeeding once there.

For the summer of 2022, the program will be offered in person August 1st – August 26.
