WMed & AAMC are partnering to offer the Athletes Into Healthcare Initiative Monthly Workshops.

This virtual initiative will bring attention to athletes’ intangible skill sets, similar to those required of students in health care programs.

Pharmacy: Prescription for a Rewarding Career

The SHPEP National Program Office (NPO) will be hosting a webinar Pharmacy: Prescription for a Rewarding Career webinar on Wednesday, August 4, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

During this session, attendees will learn about the various career pathway, personal benefits, and endless opportunities within the pharmacy profession. This session will also assist students in successfully navigating the PharmCAS application process to apply to pharmacy schools as well as highlight data reflective of the PharmCAS applicant pool.

AAMC Fee Assistance Program

The AAMC Fee Assistance Program provides financial assistance to individuals who, without this aid, would find it difficult to take the MCAT, apply to medical schools that use AMCAS, and fulfill other application obligations. The 2021 Fee Assistance Program application opens Feb. 8, 2021.

Minority Student Medical Career Fair

The AAMC invites high school and college students in all stages of their prehealth journey to explore career opportunities in medicine, biomedical sciences, and various health professions at the Virtual Minority Student Medical Career Fair on November 20th. You can chat with medical school admissions and diversity affairs representatives from across the country from the comfort of your home. The fair will feature sessions on SHPEP; the Fee Assistance Program; the Financial Information, Resource, Services, and Tools (FIRST) program; the AMCAS® program; the MCAT exam; medical school admissions; paying for school; and video demonstrations on clinical skills such as suturing.
