MV3 is Calling all Freshman

MV3 is currently accepting applications for Freshman scholars!

MV3 was founded by Harvard Medical School students and stands for  Mobilizing Voices through Education, Service, and Advocacy.

Our mission at the MV3 Foundation is to invest in the personal, academic, and professional growth of the next generation of Black professionals in healthcare and health sciences so that they are poised to make a positive impact in the health of communities of color. The MV3 Foundation is a community of scholars, graduate students, and health/ biomedical science professionals who are working to create a more diverse and equitable health/ biomedical science workforce. We believe that in order to do this, we must invest in the personal and professional growth of our future leaders in health and biomedical science. Our community will serve as a catalyst for the mobilization of MV3 Scholars’ voices, inspiring and empowering them to positively impact their communities through our 3 Pillars: Education, Service, and Advocacy. It takes a village to invoke positive change in our communities, and at the MV3 Foundation we are doing just that.

As you start this journey, join the AAMC Group on Research, Education, and Training Outreach Committee to learn strategies and tips on choosing where to apply and how to prepare a strong application. 

Our panel of experts will provide an overview of the application process including factors to consider when choosing your list of programs, strategies for approaching personal statements, letters of recommendation, and general tips for success.

PA Diversity Recruitment Virtual Fair

The PA Education Association (PAEA) invites you and your students to join us for the PA Diversity Recruitment Virtual Fair on Saturday, July 15 from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET. A Day In The Life of a Physician-Scientist

If you are considering pursuing a career as a physician-scientist or applying to MD/DO-PhD programs, the American Physician Scientists Association is supporting you with an interactive panel session occurring on February 23, 2023, at 7PM Eastern. This Q&A session is geared toward individuals curious to learn more about what a career as a physician-scientist looks like. A panel of physician-scientists (bios here!) will be available to share their experiences about their day-to-day work, training, and career pathways, and answer your questions. Anyone can join!

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation has 4 Scholarships for graduate programs for veterinary science. Please note that these scholarships are specifically for residents of Kalamazoo County or Van Buren County. To be considered as a Kalamazoo resident, you must have lived in Kalamazoo for at least a year before starting college coursework, or graduated or stopped attending school at least a year ago.

Court Family Scholarship

  • Kalamazoo County resident or graduate of a Kalamazoo County high school
  • Student in a Graduate of Veterinary Medicine Program

Nancy Niles Donovan Scholarship

  • Kalamazoo County or St. Joseph County resident, or graduate of a high school in Kalamazoo County or St. Joseph County
  • Attending Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine to obtain a DVM degree

Gail & Hilda Oster Scholarship

  • Van Buren County resident or graduate of a Van Buren County High School
  • Attending Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine to obtain a DVM degree

Biomedical Graduate and MD-PhD Programs – Learn More

The AAMC GREAT Outreach Committee will host a Virtual Q&A session focused on biomedical graduate and MD-PhD programs/careers on Oct. 13, 4 p.m. (ET). 

This will be an opportunity for your advisees to:

  • hear directly from program directors during interactive sessions
  • practice networking skills

OU’s – Master of Public Health

OU’s MPH is currently receiving applications for our Fall 2022 cohort until July 1, 2022.  This program offers hybrid, evening (classes begin at 5:30 pm) program to allow students to work while completing their degree.

Admissions Criteria:

  • Official transcripts indicating baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution
  • Three (3) recommendation forms from faculty members, supervisors, or professional mentors. Actual letters of support are optional.
  • Personal Statement of no more than 1000 words describing the applicant’s reasons for seeking an MPH degree, rationale for choosing OU’s MPH program, related public health experiences, and long-term professional goals
  • The GRE and/or an undergraduate degree in public health are NOT required.

Detroit Mercy’s MEAGN Program

Considering a career in health care? Ever think about earning a Master of Science in Nursing while studying to become a Registered Nurse! The Master’s Entry Advanced Generalist Nursing (MEAGN) program at Detroit Mercy’s is a unique course of study that gives students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree this opportunity.  The MSN provides the graduate opportunities for excellence at the bedside, facilitates a career in health care leadership, and accelerates entry into advanced practice through certificate or Doctor of Nursing Practice programs.


In just four and a half semesters – less than 17 months – graduates of the Master’s Entry Advanced Generalist Nursing program qualify to be a registered nurse and earn a Master of Science degree in Nursing.
